Carys Bray's debut novel A Song For Issy Bradley, released June 19 2014, takes a look at the death of a four year old girl through the eyes of her Mormon family.

The novel, which has been praised for its understatement, warmth and intelligence, was inspired by Bray's upbringing in the Mormon church and provides the reader with a moving insight into Mormon life. Bray was born into a strict Mormon family in Merseyside and left the church in her early thirties after marrying at 20 and having five children in seven years, one of whom died as a baby from a metabolic disease. After gaining an MA in creative writing from Edge Hill University, she's now working towards her PhD.
